In each target district, Provide International establish PDA where several community self help groups or community based organizations are formulated to address basic needs according to their priorities. The experience gained in 1986-2006 on community based reproductive health, mother and child care, orphans, vulnerable children and HIV/AIDS patients. Provide International has arrives at decisions of formulating clubs at Korogocho slums- Kasarani District, Dandora/Kayole- Soweto slums in Embakasi District and Tena Makadara District all in Nairobi Province. The club assists in extending technical service access and would replicate the program into further districts and document the experience and lessons learned.

Provide International aims to establish capable communities to harness the local potential in helping build entrepreneurial skills, invest in integrated soil/water/environmental conservation. The program interventions include

  • Develop water resources through water harvesting, sinking boreholes, rock catchments and sand dams
  • Support agro-business through small scale irrigation systems
  • Establish micro-revolving fund at self help group level

News Item 3
Provide International aims to have strengthened the community based self help groups and at least five hundred in Kenya and beyond must be involved at all levels of formulation and implementation. We aim to establish support and develop projects at community based organizations through PDAs with the aims of creating reliable well managed and efficient activities with lasting impact on the poor.
